CFW Honors Chelsea Jordan: 2017 Rachel House Hudson Customer Care Award Winner

Corporate Fitness Works congratulates Chelsea Jordan as the 15th annual recipient of the Rachel House Hudson Customer Care Award. The Rachel House Hudson Customer Care award was established in 2002 to honor a Corporate Fitness Works teammate who sadly lost her life in a car accident. The award pays tribute to her service excellence, recognizing those who embody her passion for fitness and exceptional customer care.

“The Rachel House Hudson Award is built on a foundation of professionalism, relationship building, and member safety and education. In a CCRC (continued care retirement community), succeeding in all three areas is uniquely challenging due to the generational differences and varied conditions of the active older adult population. I feel Chelsea not only succeeds in living all three of these priorities, but she makes it look second nature” – Michelle White, Senior Account Manager

Chelsea is the Health Fitness Program Manager at WindsorMeade Williamsburg, a premier active senior living community surrounded by the historic charm of Williamsburg, VA. On December 4, 2017 a reception was held in her honor where Corporate Fitness Works team and WindsorMeade Residents, Directors and Staff congregated to celebrate her achievement.

Chelsea was selected for this award based on her genuine customer care, her commitment to professionalism and for being an advocate for safety and ongoing member education. WindsorMeade Williamsburg’s Director of Lifestyles and Wellness, Holly Hunt, highly endorsed Chelsea’s nomination, identifying Chelsea as an important part of the Lifestyles and Wellness team and highly deserving of the award. The following excerpt is from Ms. Hunt’s letter of recommendation:

“Chelsea is an outstanding team player in all respects. She is able to build strong, positive, relationships with both residents and team members. She is patient, friendly, and understands that residents will be more productive in a happy environment.”

Once word got out the Chelsea was selected as this year’s overall winner, Ms. Hunt personally coordinated a special reception at WindsorMeade to honor Chelsea. Chelsea’s direct supervisor, Michelle White and CFW’s Owner and President, Brenda Loube attended the festivities to formally present Chelsea with her award. Residents and teammates joined in the celebration sharing touching stories and examples of how Chelsea has made a positive impact on their lives and on the entire community.

Rachel Burks is the CFW Fitness Specialist, and works alongside Chelsea at the WindsorMeade Williamsburg facility. She endorsed Chelsea’s nomination, providing several examples of Chelsea’s strong relationships, her professionalism with an always approachable – always positive attitude, and utmost attention to resident safety.

“Chelsea knows each resident by name, and whether to call them by first name, nickname, or Mr./Mrs. She knows their likes and dislikes, along with interesting facts about each of them.” Rachel goes on to explain, “For certain classes she teaches, Chelsea knows who will be in attendance, and she prepares the room for those residents with their preferred weight selections ready to go.”

This personalized engagement, professionalism, with focus on safety is echoed throughout the resident testimonials that were submitted on Chelsea’s behalf. Here are just a few excerpts from resident testimonials:

“Chelsea is professional in every sense of the word. She has respect and a caring attitude for each person who uses the machines or takes an exercise class. She is encouraging and wants residents to improve in whatever program they are involved.”

“Chelsea immediately became not just an instructor, but a friend. She is versatile, has a sense of humor and appreciates ours!” … “Her caring is genuine with elderly and those with handicaps.”

“Chelsea makes it easy for a new resident to get started… to build confidence a step at a time… from being willing to use the ‘Smartkey’ [equipment technology] and not being embarrassed by only lifting a few pounds, or ride the bike for a few minutes.” … “We, at WindsorMeade, are fortunate to have her leading our Wellness Program.”

Humbled by the support to her nomination and achievement as award winner, Chelsea reflects on this experience stating:

“I am so incredibly honored to be the recipient of the 2017 Rachel House Hudson Customer Care Award! Each of the facets of this award are qualities that I value very much, and I am humbled to be recognized with exceeding them!  I have received so many words of gratitude and praise from numerous residents and fellow Team Leaders that prove to me just how genuine the relationships are between us! My role as Program Manager is fun, challenging and rewarding in every sense of these words.  It is clear to me that I am a valuable member of CFW and I feel lucky to be a part of not just one, but two families…CFW and WindsorMeade Williamsburg. Thank you again to everyone who has supported me in my journey with CFW, I wouldn’t be worthy of this award without you!”
