Operation Live Well – Plan Your 2018 Health Evolution

Operation Live Well – Plan your 2018 Health Evolution

Written by: Natalie Gish, Assistant Program Manager

It is the new year, and once again you are feeling motivated to eat better, exercise more, drink less, or any number of the positive life changes you want to make. To truly make a change you have to do more than just “want it”, you also have to “plan it”. This year, do not think of your goal as a resolution but instead as an evolution. Lifestyle changes are a process that take time and require support. Once you are ready to make a change, the difficult task is committing and following through.

According to Business Insider, 80 percent of New Year’s resolutions fail by February. Do not become a statistic! Listen to the old saying, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” Start by creating that goal. Is your goal to exercise more often, manage your time better, save more money, learn a new language, land a new job, or manage your stress? In order to succeed at any of these goals, you will need more than the S.M.A.R.T goals method (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-sensitive)—although this is a great start.

No matter the goal, our content writers will discuss tips on how to start and maintain a lifestyle change as well as how to stay motivated throughout the year. Also, check out the featured exercise for a heart-pumping cardio burst!
