Explore The Outdoors

Say goodbye to the cold, dark days of winter and hello to the long, sunny days of summer! June is National Great Outdoors Month and it is time to get outside and get moving! Whether you like to camp, fish, hike, or play at a nearby park, the outdoors offers us a multitude of ways to get active and enjoy the beautiful world we live in.

National Great Outdoors Month began in 1998 as National Great Outdoors Week and has since grown into a month long celebration. More than 1 million people participated in National Great Outdoors Month in 2017; let’s make this year the greatest yet! Here are some ways you can participate:

  • June 3rd: National Trails Day, take a hike!
  • June 3rd to 11th: National Fishing and Boating week
  • June 10th: National Get Outdoors Day
  • June 16th: Great Outdoors Day of Service
  • All Summer: Great American Camp Out

This month, our contributors will be teaching us the benefits of taking your workouts outdoors, how to get active outside, and healthy options while grilling! Can you guess our featured exercise of the month? (Here is a hint: Not Lions…Not Tigers…It’s Bear Crawls, oh my!)
